Hi my name is Dora Bumpass. I've been nationally certified and state Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in Greenville, and Washington, NC since 1996. My practice is Natural Remedies, Inc. Although I do plenty of relaxation massages, I focus my work primarily on the therapeutic, and orthopedic/sports side of massage. I like to work on people who are having difficulty with stiff achy muscles and joints, repetitive motion issues, post surgery issues, with scar tissue, circulation, & range of motion issues too. A sports massage for athletes, young and old, amateur or expert, can be a wonderful tool for eliminating lactic acid and increasing range of motion, elasticity, strength and endurance.
Massage Therapy is modality within the Holistic Healthcare world, which is part of Integrative Medicine.
More and more people are realizing their traditional primary physician doesn't necessarily have all the answers for their patients with questions about confusing healthcare issues. So people have taken matters into their own hands by exploring alternative avenues of care. We are complex beings, one size healthcare glove does not fit all. Because of this exploration and need for answers, Integrative Medicine was born. The best assessment tools, treatment protocols, and results by Traditional and Holistic, or Alternative healthcare professionals.
I believe each adult should have their own Personal Integrative Healthcare Team. A group of healthcare professionals for an individuals specific needs and condition(s). What would that look like? These are professionals you have chosen to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. That might look something like this... Ob/gyn, MD.,DO, Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, Nutritionist, Dentist, Acupuncturist, Mental Health Therapist, Personal Trainer, Yoga or Tai Chi Instructor, Oncologist, Neurologist, for example.
Your health is your responsibility. You have to be pro-active about taking care of your body, mind, and spirit. It may take some time to find these professionals, and you may not be able to find them all in one location, but there are more and more Integrative Healthcare Facilities opening around the country who offer several different types of healthcare professional services in one facility.
I want to be part of your Personal Integrative Healthcare Team!
Good luck and good health in your journey :) Dora Bumpass, LMBT (NC#34)
